The Free From Food Awards (http://www.freefromfoodawards.co.uk/) , established and run by Free From Foods Matter (http://www.freefromfoodsmatter.com/) , celebrates the innovation displayed by the food industry in creating free from foods. Now in its eighth year, the hugely successful and highly regarded Free From Food Awards has previously recognised allergy-friendly companies such as Bessant & Drury, Pudology, Lucy Bee, Coyo and Booja Booja.
Following on from the success of the Free From Food Awards and to coincide with the new regulations coming into force in December which will require all catering outlets to be able to tell customers about any of the 14 main allergens in their food, the Free From Eating Out Awards (http://www.freefromeatingoutawards.co.uk/index.html ) are being launched this year.
The awards aim to recognise food establishments leading the way in producing and serving free from foods. They are an exciting prospect for people like me as they have the potential to totally change the way in which restaurants think about catering for people with food allergies and coeliac disease.
I would encourage you all to nominate your favourite allergy-friendly and gluten free restaurants by emailing the lovely people at the Free From Eating Out Awards at email@example.com by 31st August. I certainly will be!
